The original Constitution of the United Knights of Dalewood was signed on October 6, 2022 and ratified on February 9, 2023.
The purpose of the document was spelled forth in its preamble: “We, the Founders of the United Knights of Dalewood, form this government to promote the principles of: mutual respect between the Teacher and the Students; fairness for all and voice for all; powers for students and limits for the Teacher; respecting of differences and recognition of beliefs; and the rights of Students to have the opportunity to exercise control over their own education.”

Constitutional scholars continue to debate its provisions even today. While the Constitution is regarded as an overwhelming success by many observers, even the brilliant founders could not have anticipated all of the challenges that the new government would need to withstand.
As a result, the Constitution has repeatedly been amended to fix perceived inadequacies in the original document. The Constitution has therefore become a living document that each new semester of Law students can put its stamp on.
Due to some lack of clarity in the original text, various Constitutional provisions have had to be interpreted to make sense of them. The original interpretations were made by the Teacher. Following the passage of the Fifth Amendment of the Constitution, final determinations of Constitutional questions are made by the Supreme Kirk.
